Distance Education The independent Study Center for Post Graduate education paved the opportunity for developing academic excellence of the discontinued, in service as well as large number of graduates who are not coming under the purview of directed teaching Post Graduate courses. Another important feature is that the subjects like Sanskrit, Education, Environmental studies, Vocal Music, Rabindra Sangeet are available only in distance education system in North Bengal. Carrier oriented programme The students can take the opportunity to register themselves in the "PC Application Course". We are currently in the middle of an "Information Revolution" and virtually all job occupations have a requirement for computer literacy. We have introduced two years diploma course ("PC Application") in collaboration with Webel informatics (a govt.of west Bengal undertaking) for our students with a special consessional fees. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to computer information systems with an emphasis on the hardware, software and basic Microsoft Windows and windows based applications.
Social Service As a part of the Social Activities, National Service Scheme has been functioning from 2003 with an aim to develop the personality of the students through community service. The objectives are: 1. To work with/ among the people. 2. To engage in creative and constructive social activities. 3. To gain skill in the exercise of democratic leadership. 4. To gain skill in programme development to enable him/her for self employment. 5. To promote the will to serve the weaker section of the community.	NSS Activity
Cultural Activities The students' union organizes annual exhibition and annual cultural function which provide great opportunities for our students cultural talents. They show their extracurricular talent which is recognized by various state level competitions.We have a Post Graduate course under distance education mode on vocal music, a group of students have passed from this course, nourishing our cultural section. Publication The college is publishing two bimonthly little magazine, Candid in English and Mononbiswa in Bengali
Games and Sports The Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya has excellent track record in games and sports. It has organized the non-government college sports and football championship from 2001 to 2006 without break. Every year students of this college secured top rank in the medal tally. In 2007 the college secured individual as well as team championship in the state meet at salt lake stadium. Students of this college also performed good result in the various sports events including adventure sports of University of North Bengal.
